About the CUET Photo & Signature Resizer

CUET UG is now the single gateway to most central universities, so its application form is many students' first-ever government form — often filled on a phone, at home, without a studio nearby. The upload step is where first-timers get stuck: the photograph must be a recent passport-style image inside a 10KB–200KB window, and the signature inside 4KB–30KB, both in JPG. This resizer prepares both files in seconds, in your browser, with nothing uploaded to a server.

Specifications checked October 2026 against recent CUET UG information bulletins — verify your current information bulletin before you submit, because NTA revises specifications between cycles. Updated 30 October 2026.

CUET Photograph Requirements

FormatJPG / JPEG only
File Size10KB – 200KB (per recent bulletins)
StyleRecent passport-style colour photograph
FaceClearly visible, facing the camera, eyes open
BackgroundLight or white, plain
Not AllowedCap, sunglasses, filters, screenshots

The photo must be unmistakably you, taken recently. Universities receive this image with your application, and it is matched against you again at counselling and admission — a two-year-old school photo or a heavily filtered selfie creates problems long after the exam is over.

CUET Signature Requirements

FormatJPG / JPEG only
File Size4KB – 30KB (per recent bulletins)
Paper & InkPlain white paper, black or blue pen
StyleYour normal running-hand signature

Sign exactly the way you sign on school documents and will sign at admission. A signature that looks different from your usual one — neater, slower, or copied from a parent's suggestion — is a classic mismatch flag.

The Mismatch Problem: Why CUET Uploads Really Get Rejected

Size errors are easy to fix; identity mismatches are not. Every cycle, applications run into trouble because the uploaded photo is old or edited, the signature was "improved" for the form and no longer matches the candidate's real one, or — worst of all — a café operator uploaded the wrong customer's file. NTA and the universities can raise a discrepancy at the exam, at counselling or at admission, months after the form was submitted. Use your own recent photo and your own everyday signature, prepared from your own files, and keep the originals saved.

Fixing a Phone Photo or Scan

Most CUET photos now start as phone pictures, and most problems are fixable before resizing. Shoot standing against a plain light wall, in daylight, with the phone level and someone else holding it if possible — arm's-length selfies distort the face. If the image has a yellow indoor tint, retake it near a window rather than filtering it. If the paper signature scan has grey shadows, re-photograph it flat in bright light with the phone directly above the paper, not at an angle. Never upload a screenshot of a photo: screenshots add borders, drop quality and often save as PNG, which the form rejects.

CUET Document Uploads

Depending on your category and subjects, the CUET flow can also ask for supporting documents — Class 10 and 12 marksheets or certificates, and category or PwD certificates — usually as PDFs within a size window set by the current bulletin. Check the bulletin for which documents apply to you and their exact limits, as requirements change. This resizer handles images only; to combine pages into one PDF, use our Merge PDF tool.

How to Resize Your CUET Photo and Signature

Select Photo for your photograph, or Signature for your signature.

  2. Upload your image

Click the upload button and pick the JPG or PNG image from your phone or computer.

  3. Resize & compress

Press the Resize & Compress button. The tool sets passport proportions and compresses the file into the correct KB window automatically.

  4. Check the preview

Confirm the face is clearly visible and the signature is dark and readable at the final size.

  5. Download and upload

Download the resized JPG and upload it to the CUET application portal.

Applying elsewhere too? Try the JEE Main Photo Resizer, NEET Photo Resizer or SSC Photo & Signature Resizer, or compress straight to a size with Compress Image to 200KB.

Common CUET Upload Mistakes

  • Old or filtered photo — it must be recent and match how you look at admission.
  • A "best" signature instead of your real one — sign the way you always sign.
  • Someone else's file uploaded by mistake — always prepare your own files yourself.
  • Screenshot instead of the photo file — screenshots are often PNG and poor quality.
  • Dark room background — use a plain light wall and daylight.
  • Shadow across the signature scan — photograph it flat, in bright light, from directly above.
  • File outside the KB window — check the downloaded file's size in its Properties.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the CUET photo size?
Recent CUET UG information bulletins specify the photograph in JPG/JPEG format between 10KB and 200KB — a recent passport-style colour photo with the face clearly visible against a light or white background. Confirm the exact window in the current CUET bulletin before uploading.
What is the CUET signature size?
Recent CUET UG bulletins give the signature size as 4KB to 30KB in JPG/JPEG format. Sign in running handwriting with a black or blue pen on plain white paper. The signature on your form is compared later, so use the same signature you use everywhere else.
Can I upload a photo taken on my phone for CUET?
Yes, most candidates do. Stand against a plain light wall in daylight, keep the phone level and fill the frame with your face and shoulders, then resize the photo into the 10KB to 200KB window. Avoid screenshots, selfie filters and photos with shadows across the face.
Why do CUET photo and signature uploads get rejected?
The usual causes are a photo or signature that does not match the candidate — an old photo, a different signature style, or someone else's file — plus out-of-window sizes, PNG instead of JPG, dark backgrounds and blurry phone scans. NTA can flag mismatches at admission, not just during the application.
Can I use the same photo for CUET and JEE Main?
Usually yes. NTA uses the same upload windows for both exams — photo 10KB to 200KB and signature 4KB to 30KB — so one recent photo that meets the rules generally works for both forms, as long as it is recent and you look the same in it.
Is the CUET photo resizer free and private?
Yes. The resizer runs entirely in your browser, so your photograph and signature never leave your device and nothing is stored on a server. It is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no usage limit.
