Signature Resizer for Exam & Form Uploads

Pick your exam, upload a photo of your signature, then resize automatically.

About the Signature Resizer

Photos get all the attention, but the signature is the upload that never changes: almost every SSC, IBPS, UPSC, RRB and NEET application still wants it as a small JPG, usually squeezed into a 10KB–20KB window. It is also the file candidates struggle with most — a signature photographed from too far away turns into a faint grey thread once compressed. This tool is built for signatures first: choose your exam, upload a close photo, and get a clean JPG of the right size, entirely in your browser.

Specifications checked October 2026 — verify your current notification before you submit, because exam bodies do revise size windows.

Signature Size for Each Exam

SSC (CGL, CHSL, GD, MTS)10KB – 20KB, JPG
IBPS & SBI Bank Exams10KB – 20KB, JPG (140 × 60 px)
UPSCAs per notification (commonly 20KB – 300KB)
RRB / Railways10KB – 40KB, JPG
NEET4KB – 30KB, JPG

Both ends of the window matter — a 6KB signature fails an SSC upload as surely as a 60KB one — so this tool aims at the middle of each window, not the smallest file.

How to Create a Clean Signature Image

Good resizing starts before the tool. Sign with a black or blue ball or gel pen on plain white paper with no ruling or print behind it. Sign at natural size or a touch larger; a bigger original survives compression far better. Photograph it in daylight, phone held above and parallel to the paper, tapping to focus on the ink. Crop tightly, leaving a small white margin — the single biggest quality upgrade you can make.

Never Sign in Capital Letters

One rule catches candidates out every cycle: IBPS explicitly rejects a signature in capital letters, and UPSC requires a running-hand signature. The upload is also compared with how you sign in the exam hall. Sign exactly the way you always sign — never a typed or printed version of your name.

How to Resize Your Signature

  1. Select your exam or form

Choose SSC, IBPS, UPSC, RRB or NEET to target its window and dimensions.

  2. Keep Signature selected

Document type is already set to Signature here.

  3. Upload your signature photo

Pick the tightly cropped photo from your phone.

  4. Resize & compress

Press Resize & Compress. The tool sets the exam's dimensions and lands the JPG inside its window.

  5. Check the preview and download

Zoom in: every stroke should be dark and readable. Download the JPG for your form.

Fixes for Blurry, Faint or Too-Dark Signatures

Blurry: the original was shot from too far away or with digital zoom. Re-shoot closer, crop tight, sign slightly bigger — lost detail cannot be recovered. Too faint: the pen was dying or the light was dim; re-sign with a fresh pen and shoot in daylight. Grey background: your shadow fell across the paper or the light was yellow; move near a window, keep your shadow off the page, skip the flash. Stretched: the phone was tilted; hold it parallel to the paper.

Common Signature Mistakes

  • Capital-letter signature — rejected by IBPS and not a running-hand signature for UPSC.
  • Signing on ruled, printed or coloured paper — lines show through.
  • Photographing the whole notebook page — the signature shrinks to nothing.
  • A different signature from your documents — mismatches get flagged at verification.
  • File below the minimum size — under-window files are rejected too.
  • Uploading PNG, PDF or a screenshot — portals want a JPG.
  • Tracing or redrawing the signature in an app — drawn signatures differ from your real hand.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size should a signature be for online forms?
For most Indian exams the signature must be a JPG between 10KB and 20KB — the window for SSC and for IBPS and SBI bank exams. NEET uses 4KB to 30KB, RRB up to 40KB, UPSC its notification. Pick your exam in the tool above and it targets the right window.
Can I upload a signature written in capital letters?
No. IBPS explicitly rejects signatures in capital letters, and UPSC asks for a running-hand signature. The upload must also match how you sign on exam day and on your documents — use your normal, everyday signature.
Which pen and paper give the cleanest signature image?
Use a black or blue ball or gel pen on plain, unruled white paper. Avoid pencil and very light inks. Sign at your natural size or slightly larger, photograph it straight-on in daylight, and crop tightly before resizing.
Why does my signature look blurry after resizing?
Almost always because the original photo had too much empty paper around the signature: shrunk down, it becomes a thin, faint line. Crop tightly first, sign a little bigger and bolder, tap to focus before clicking, and avoid digital zoom.
Why does my signature image have a grey or dark background?
Shadows, yellow indoor lighting and flash glare grey the paper. Photograph the signature near a window in daylight, keep your shadow off the paper, hold the camera parallel to the page, and skip the flash. The paper should look white in the photo.
Can I use one signature file for SSC, IBPS and other exams?
The signature itself should be the same everywhere, but the file cannot be reused blindly: dimensions differ by exam (IBPS uses a small 140 by 60 pixel image, SSC a wider one), and so do size windows. Resize a fresh copy per exam with the selector in this tool.
My signature file is below the minimum size. What should I do?
A file under the minimum (under 10KB for SSC or IBPS, say) is rejected just like an oversized one. This tool targets the middle of each window, so its output lands safely in range. If compressing manually, raise JPG quality instead of enlarging a tiny image.
Is the signature resizer free and private?
Yes. The resizer runs entirely in your browser, so your signature image never leaves your device and nothing is stored on a server. It is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no usage limit.
