About the NEET Photo & Signature Resizer

NEET UG asks for more uploads than almost any other Indian entrance exam: a passport-size photo, a postcard-size photo no other major exam demands, and a signature — each in JPG, each inside its own size window. Every year, candidates are caught out by the wrong photo type, a missing name-and-date strip, or a missed size limit. This free resizer prepares your passport photo and signature in seconds, in your browser, with nothing uploaded to any server.

Specifications checked October 2026 against recent NEET information bulletins — verify your current notification before you submit, because NTA can revise sizes in a new bulletin.

NEET Passport-Size Photo Requirements

FormatJPG only
File Size10KB – 200KB (per recent bulletins)
BackgroundPlain white background
Face CoverageAbout 80% of the photo, forehead to chin
Name & DateCandidate's name and photo date printed at the bottom

Take the photograph against a plain white background with your full face visible and both eyes clear. Do not wear a cap or sunglasses, and keep the face large in the frame — NTA guidance expects roughly 80 percent coverage. Recent bulletins require your name and the photo date printed at the bottom, so get that strip printed at the studio rather than editing it in later, which can look tampered with.

NEET Postcard-Size Photo Requirements

FormatJPG only
Dimensions4 inch × 6 inch (postcard size)
File Size10KB – 200KB (per recent bulletins)
PhotoThe same photograph as the passport-size upload
Name & DateSame name and date strip at the bottom

The postcard-size photo is NEET's unique extra step: a 4×6 inch version of the very same photograph, used again at counselling and admission. Prepare it from the same original file — set the dimensions (about 1200 × 1800 pixels) with our Image Resizer, then bring the file into the size window with the Compress Image to KB tool. Never substitute a different photo.

NEET Signature Requirements

FormatJPG only
File Size4KB – 30KB (per recent bulletins)
Paper & InkPlain white paper, black or blue ink
StyleYour normal running-hand signature

Sign the way you normally sign, on clean white paper, and photograph it closely in good light before resizing. Plenty of websites publish signature sizes that do not match the bulletin — the range in recent NEET information bulletins is 4KB–30KB, so trust the current bulletin over any blog or video.

How to Resize Your NEET Photo and Signature

  1. Choose the document type

Select Photo for the passport-size photograph, or Signature.

  2. Upload your image

Click the upload button and pick the image from your phone or computer.

  3. Resize & compress

Press the Resize & Compress button. The tool adjusts dimensions and compresses into NEET's size window automatically.

  4. Check the preview

Confirm the face fills the frame and the name and date strip is readable.

  5. Download and upload

Download the resized JPG and upload it to the NEET application portal, then prepare the postcard photo as described above.

Applying elsewhere too? Use our resizers for SSC, UPSC, IBPS and RRB, compress straight to 20KB, or read our guide on compressing images for exam forms.

If NTA Flags Your NEET Upload for Correction

Read the correction notice carefully — it names the exact defect. The most common ones: the postcard photo was skipped or is a passport crop at wrong dimensions; the name and date strip is missing or unreadable; the background is coloured instead of white; the face covers too little of the frame; or the file is a PNG or outside the size window. Fix only what is flagged, re-check the file in Properties, and submit before the deadline.

Common NEET Photo and Signature Mistakes

  • Forgetting the postcard-size photo — NEET needs both photo sizes.
  • No name and date strip — recent bulletins require it at the bottom.
  • Different photos for passport and postcard — they must be identical.
  • Coloured or home background — plain white is required.
  • Face too small in the frame — aim for about 80% coverage.
  • Trusting random signature sizes online — use the bulletin's 4KB–30KB window.
  • Uploading PNG or a screenshot — NEET accepts JPG only.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the NEET photo size in KB?
Recent NEET information bulletins specify the passport-size photograph in JPG format within a 10KB to 200KB window, and the postcard-size photo must fit the same limit. Always confirm the exact window in this year's bulletin before uploading.
What is the postcard-size photo in the NEET form?
NEET is unusual: besides the normal passport-size photo, NTA asks for a larger postcard-size photograph measuring 4 inches by 6 inches — the same photograph, with the same name and date strip, as a JPG within the bulletin's size window. Skipping it causes problems at counselling and admission.
What is the NEET signature size in KB?
Recent NEET information bulletins give the signature size as 4KB to 30KB in JPG format. Some third-party websites publish different numbers, so treat the current NEET information bulletin as the only reliable source.
Should my name and date appear on the NEET photo?
Yes. Recent NEET bulletins require the candidate's name and the date the photograph was taken, printed at the bottom of the photograph. Ask your studio to print that strip, and use the identical photo for both uploads.
How much of the NEET photo should my face cover?
NTA guidance expects the face to cover roughly 80 percent of the photograph, from forehead to chin, against a plain white background. Both eyes should be clearly visible, with no cap or sunglasses. A face that is too small is a common reason for correction notices.
How do I resize the postcard-size NEET photo?
Start from the same original photograph as your passport photo. The postcard version is 4 by 6 inches (about 1200 by 1800 pixels). Set those dimensions with an image resizer, bring the JPG into the 10KB–200KB window with a compress-to-KB tool, and check the name and date strip is readable.
Why did NTA flag my NEET photo for correction?
The usual causes are a missing postcard-size photo, a photo without the name and date strip, a coloured background instead of white, a face covering too little of the frame, or a PNG or out-of-window file. Fix the named issue and re-upload within the deadline.
Is the NEET photo resizer free and private?
Yes. The resizer runs entirely in your browser, so your photograph and signature never leave your device and nothing is stored on a server. It is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no usage limit.
